Rod Boon

Rod Boon, the elder statesman at MDK Wealth Management, originally established the business back in 1993, starting with MLC Financial Planning in Hazelwood Road Morwell (opposite MDK’s current offices).

Rod originally came to the valley in 1973 as a qualified accountant and was involved in the operation and management of several small businesses.  Rod capitalized on his strong accounting background and completed his diploma of Financial Planning in 2000, becoming a certified Financial Planner.  He operated from offices in Dandenong and Warragul, but latter consolidated the business to a single office in Commercial Road Morwell upon the acquisition of Martin Reid’s Morwell practice.  Rod transitioned the business from MLC to an independently owned Grovsenor Securities in 2003.

Rod is currently in semi retirement mode, and enjoys his spare time cooking and gardening with his wife Sandra, and golfing whilst also taking on the role of President of the Trafalgar Golf Club in 2012.
